About Us Bold Impressions was founded in 1981 by two sisters. In 1988, Kathleen Shipe bought her partner's interest, later moving the company from Scottsdale to its permanent home in Phoenix. Our award-winning company is best known for its fierce loyalty to clients, superior attention to detail, and can-do attitude. Kathleen took classes at the School of Visual Arts and Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC after completing undergraduate and graduate degrees from Arizona State and Rutgers Universities. She has long been involved in the community in Phoenix and Scottsdale, having served on the boards of MDA, Contemporary Forum of Phoenix Art Museum, Delta Dental and Arizona Business Leadership. Other affiliations include Friends of the Orphans, Charter 100, and the Phoenix and Scottsdale Chambers of Commerce. Bold Impressions has won numerous awards for its creative work. In 1991, it was Scottsdale's “Small Business of the Year.” In 2004, it was named Best Graphic Design and Best Web design firm in the Phoenix Business Journal's “Reader's Choice” Awards. In 2005, the company was honored with listings on both the Arizona Business magazine Top Ten and Arizona Woman magazine's “Who's Who in Business”. We have been on the Book of Lists top 25 graphic design firms since 1987. In 2008, we were a finalist for an AMA Spectrum Award.
